However, these properties do not come on the market that often given that they are all just steps to the Fraser River, with some having an unobstructed river view. More affordable condos do come on the market in this area, but will not have river views. However, you will still just be by the river, so it is definitely worth a look!
For an apartment-style condo in this area, you can expect an average of 1,000 sq. ft., with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is not the most affordable option for first-time buyers but might be a good choice for retirees looking for a gorgeous view and plenty of natural walking trails. Fort Langley National Historic Site of Canada stands proudly in the northwest quadrant of the town of Fort Langley. Built in 1827 by the Hudson’s Bay Company to trade fur with California gold prospectors, the Fort Langley Historic Site is now a great place for families to learn and enjoy a fun day out! Along with the fort in Fort Langley, there is also a B.C. Farm Museum and a Langley Centennial Museum & Exhibition Centre. The B.C. The Langley Centennial Museum was opened in 1958 to provide exhibits, programs, and other heritage services in the area. It is an excellent addition to the community.
The downtown core of Fort Langley is small but has it all! There are many coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants to appease the fussiest of eaters. The main commercial area is around Mavis Avenue and Mary Avenue where you’ll find a grocery store, bookstore, and many other fantastic local shops.
Just across the river from Fort Langley is McMillian Island. This beautiful island is home to Brae Island Regional Park and provides great walking and biking trails. There is also the Kwanten First Nation Cultural Centre that is a must see if you make it out to McMillian Island.

Getting Around In Fort Langley
Fort Langley transit has good links to the Greater Vancouver Area. If you are heading into Vancouver via bus then you will be taken to the Langley Transit exchange to catch a bus to the LRT at King George Station to take the train into Vancouver or any one of the stops along the way. The bus system throughout Greater Vancouver is part of a regional transportation network called TransLink. No matter where you want to go, you will be able to find the route online!

Fort Langley is known for hosting the Cranberry Festival every October. It started in 1995 and has become a staple in the community and the surrounding areas. There is music, local vendors, and games for the kids. In recent years the attendance for this festival has been around 60,000 people.
Two other more local events include the Bloom Market and Food Truck Festival. The Bloom Market is a series of markets throughout the year that enables local vendors to sell their artisan goods. The Food Truck Festival is held in September and features a number of food trucks in the area, with some exceptional culinary options.
